Chittenden Reservoir

Mountains covered with woods, a small population, and a lack of industrial enterprises are the main features of this region.

2. Chittenden Reservoir, as well as many other lakes in the Appalachian Mountains, was created by the construction of dams on small mountain rivers. The result - a wonderful place to relax.

3. This beach belongs to The Mountain Top Inn & Resort. I find it hard to say whether all the lake belongs to the Resort, but this beach can only be accessed with one of their passes. Right there on the shore, canoes and kayaks are waiting to be ridden.

4. My the first time on the beach, I was searching for someone to ask for permission to take a kayak. I eventually found out that there is simply no one here to ask. You can take a life jacket,  a paddle,  a canoe or  a kayak, and swim wherever you wants and how long you want.

5. Residents fear the densely populated areas of the eastern U.S., I can understand why.

6. One of the places on the lake where we stopped to rest.

7. For those wishing to take a swim in the lake, I would say that there are several options. From the south,  there is an access road to the lake. Is there a pain entrance there or not? I do not know, but from there some tourists swam in their kayaks. For those who do not live in the Resort but eat dinner in their restaurant, a pass to the beach is given. The simplest, but perhaps not the cheapest way is to just buy a room.
