Mayan Pyramid in the Chichen Itza

While vacationing in Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula, one can not resist the desire to see the ruins of the ancient Mayan civilization. There are many similar ancient cities in Mexico, but Chichen Itza is the only one accepted as one of the new seven wonders of the world.

02.  For the duration of the trip, only a monotonous landscape can be seen outside - the jungle, jungle and more jungle.

03. Somewhere in the depths of the jungle is a wonderful city of an ancient civilization.

04. Archaeological excavations at Chichen Itza do not stop.

05. Geographically, the city is built very precisely.

06.However, all the buildings offset the north-south axis by 14 degrees. There is no official explanation for this puzzle.

07. This Google map clearly shows the offset.

08. Exactly what each building was used for, no one knows, only hypotheses and assumptions.

09. Such as this building, the modern science of Mexico qualifies this area as a field for ball games.

10. And this, in their view, the gate for the ball.
