Ricketts Glen State Park

Ricketts Glen State Park  is a unique place on Earth where a small area contains 21 waterfalls, each of which could be a separate attraction.

2. Map - This diagram shows the location of the waterfalls, their names and the height in feet. (1 foot - 0.3048 meters). The length of the trail along the falls is 7.2 miles or 11.6 km and involves very difficult terrain  This complexity and the inclines are not in the least defined. High Falls is at a height of 1140 feet (350 m) above the lower falls.

3.  Each of the beautiful waterfalls is unique and has its own aura. The camera can not express the feelings that filled a man standing next to a waterfall. A photo of Oneida Waterfall.

4. At first, I wanted to show pictures of all 21 waterfalls in this blog, but later I realized that flipping through 21 photos can become tedious even to the reader. A photo of Cayuga Waterfall.

5.  You must sneak on such  paths along the river

6. You can rest anywhere. Beauty is everywhere; in the river, in the vegetation, and in the rocks.

7.  Descend or climb those steps.

8.  Each new waterfall holds a unique feeling of delight and joy. A photo of Tuscarora Waterfall.

9.  Harrison Wright Waterfall. The names given to the waterfalls are those of the names of Indiana tribes of North America and of the family of the owner of the territory - the Civil War Colonel R. Bruce Ricketts.

10.   Wyandot Waterfall.

11. Canyon creeks are beautiful and clean, which is important. This path is difficult, and takes only a true nature lovers to pass through it.

12. Shawnee Waterfall. Slowly, up, nearing completion of a route. To say that one is very tired - is to say nothing. But, interestingly enough, the next days brought upon a strong desire to go back into the canyon. Perhaps not through the entire route, but at least to the first waterfall.

13.  In the park there is Lake Jean. The campsite is near the lake and each of the tent sites has access to water. Such scenery was from our site. In short - we were very lucky.
14.  On the other side of the lake, a tree held a bald eagle looking out for its prey. This is my attempt at taking a picture, given that I do not have a special lens.

15.  After a walk, a rest on the shore of a mountain lake - what could be better?

16.  This is what the rest of the day looked like, and the next.

17. Thanking nature for creating such a miracle, this way, in the literal sense of the word, we got down to the ground. Slope of 18 degrees - Another test for the nerves and technology - And home to Philadelphia.
