Seven Tubs Nature Area

Seven Tubs Natural Area - small in size, but an amazingly beautiful work of nature. Although sources on the Internet, including Wikipedia, indicate glacial origin of Seven Tubs, visiting here gives no doubt that this is not the case. But what made ​​the creek in this area will certainly be attributed to the wonder of nature.

03. The photo clearly shows that the glacier had nothing to do with the creation- over thousands of years, the water carved out these bizarre forms.

04. Seven Tubs Natural Area is located in the Pocono Mountains near the town of Wilkes-Barre in  the state of Pennsylvania. 

 

05. The area where the river created these tubs is about 1000 feet long.

06. In some places, the height of the canyon reaches 18-20 feet.

07. The trail passes over the canyon.

08. The river was not very cold. The heat, which lasted for a month in the region, heated the stones, which in turn heated the water.

09. Therefore, the water was quite suitable for swimming

10. Some of the tubs went over the canyon ledge.

12. The higher you go with the flow, the canyon becomes narrower. Although its shape is fascinating everywhere.

14. This lake is no longer considered a tub, but still beautiful, and its depth allows for swimming in it.

16. Further along the river, I found a tunnel. There, at the top of the embankment is a railroad, so people have built a bridge, but the landscape is not majorly spoiled.

17. After the embankment, I happily discovered that more tubs awaited. Although, the tubs were clearly not included on the map.

18. This is the first tub of the tunnel.

19. And this is the second, however not an extreme, since passing through, there was nothing we have not discovered before. Although we were happy to swim in the bathtub.
